Why not just import the text into Anki?
- No import dialog. Anki's text import asks for a note type, a field mapping and a separator. The .apkg already knows all three — open it and the deck is there.
- A card you want to look at. Pick one of five styles, each with a night-mode version, instead of Anki's black-on-white default.
- Both directions if you want. Tick “reversed cards” to also get definition → term, the way Quizlet's Learn mode asks.
- Re-import safely. Cards are identified by their content, so importing an updated version of the same set doesn't double the cards you already have.
How to use it
- Copy the set out of Quizlet. On quizlet.com, open the set → ••• menu → Export, keep “Tab” and “New line”, and copy the text. Quizlet only offers Export on sets you created, and not on every account.
- Paste it here. The separators are detected; anything that is not one term and one definition per line is counted as skipped. Two columns copied from a spreadsheet work too.
- Pick a look and download. Choose a style, name the deck and download the .apkg. Open it with Anki, AnkiMobile or AnkiDroid.
Lecture PDFs still waiting to become cards?
AnkiForge reads your slides, PowerPoint or Markdown notes and writes short, single-fact cloze cards — and masks every label on your diagrams as native Anki image occlusion. 30 free credits when you sign up.
FAQ
My set has no Export option. What can I paste instead?
Anything with one term and one definition per line works: two columns copied from Google Sheets or Excel (tab-separated), a CSV with a comma after the term, or your own list with a custom separator such as “ :: ”. Pick the separator under the text box if it is not detected.
Are images and audio from Quizlet included?
No. Quizlet’s text export has only the words, so pictures and audio are not carried over. Add them in Anki afterwards if you need them.
Is my set uploaded anywhere?
No. The text is read and the deck is built in your browser. Nothing you paste is sent to AnkiForge or anyone else.
Can I change the card style later?
Yes. In Anki open Tools → Manage Note Types, pick “AnkiForge Basic · …”, then Cards → Styling. Or make your own look with the free card template styler and paste its CSS there.
