A Notion export, as cards
This is what Notion’s Markdown export looks like: callouts become <aside>, toggles become <details>. Their words are read like the rest of the page.

Made for how Notion notes are written
- Toggles and callouts are read. The facts students tuck into toggles and callouts are part of the page, so they can become cards too.
- Split by heading. A long page is cut at its headings into sections of about 3,000 characters, so you choose which parts become cards.
- No workspace access. You export the pages you choose; nothing connects to your Notion account.
How to turn a Notion page into Anki cards
- Export from Notion. Open the page’s ••• menu → Export → format “Markdown & CSV”. Include subpages if your notes are split across them.
- Unzip and drop. Notion sends a .zip. Unzip it and drop the .md files here — several at once is fine. The long ID Notion adds to file names is removed from the deck’s source labels.
- Pick sections, review, download. Each heading section becomes cards; keep, fix or drop them, then download one .apkg.
Notion to Anki: what carries over
Toggles, callouts and lists
In Notion’s Markdown export, toggles turn into <details> blocks and callouts into <aside> blocks. AnkiForge strips the tags and keeps the words, so a toggle heading and its hidden contents are read as ordinary notes. A toggle is not turned into a question/answer card one-to-one; cloze cards are written from the facts inside it, as with the propylthiouracil card above.
Tables and databases
A simple table on a page stays in the Markdown file and its text is read with the rest of the page. Databases are different: Notion exports them as separate CSV files, which AnkiForge does not read. If a database is really a list of terms and definitions, the free Quizlet to Anki converter takes two columns (tab- or comma-separated) and makes Basic cards from them without AI.
Pages, subpages and file names
With “Include subpages” ticked, every subpage becomes its own .md file inside folders in the .zip. Drop just the files you want cards from. Notion adds a 32-character ID to each file name; it is removed from the source label stored on every card, so your cards say “Thyroid hormones.md”, not the ID.
Why export instead of connecting your account
Connecting a Notion integration means granting access to pages in your workspace. Exporting keeps that decision with you: the files are opened in your browser, only the text of the sections you choose is sent to make cards, and nothing is kept afterwards.
If you prefer PDF
Notion can export a page as PDF too, and that works here as well. Markdown is usually the better choice: the headings come through, so a long page is split into sections you can pick from instead of fixed PDF pages.

FAQ
Do toggle lists become question / answer cards?
Not one-to-one. Toggle headings and their contents are read as notes, and cloze cards are written from the facts in them. Basic question/answer cards are not offered yet.
Can I connect my Notion account instead of exporting?
No — we never ask for access to your workspace. Export the pages you want and drop the files; they are read in your browser.
What about Notion databases?
Notion exports databases as CSV files, which this tool does not read. For a two-column term/definition database, use the free Quizlet to Anki converter, which accepts comma- or tab-separated text.
What happens to my files?
Your PDF, PowerPoint or notes file is opened in your browser. Only the text of the pages you choose is sent to make cards, and only the diagrams you ask us to scan are sent for label detection. We do not keep the text, the images or the cards; your work in progress is saved only in this browser.
How much does it cost?
New accounts get 30 free credits. After that, credit packs start at $4.99. One credit is one page or slide turned into cards, or one diagram scanned for labels. If a run fails, its credits are refunded automatically. Downloading is free.
