1Mark the blanks
Alt+C = next number, Alt+Shift+C = same number. Add a hint as {{c1::answer::hint}}.
2Check & download
“Copy as text” gives one card per line, ready for Anki’s File → Import with the Cloze note type (turn on “Allow HTML in fields”).
Faster than Anki's Add window for a whole page of facts
- Anki's numbering, without the dialog. Alt+C adds the next number on that card, Alt+Shift+C reuses the current one — the same rule as Anki's own Ctrl+Shift+C, which browsers keep for their developer tools.
- Bulk blanks from your own formatting. Already bolded or highlighted the key terms in Obsidian or Notion? One click turns each into its own blank.
- Checked as you go. Lines without a blank are skipped, and cards with a long answer, too much text or many blanks are marked so you can split them.
- Your draft stays put. The text is kept in this browser between visits and never uploaded.
How to use it
- Paste your notes. One fact per line, or switch to one card per paragraph. Bullets and numbering are dropped from the cards.
- Mark the blanks. Select words and press Alt+C (⌥C on a Mac), or use Auto for bold text, highlights or numbers. Add a hint with {{c1::answer::hint}}.
- Download. Get an .apkg with an AnkiForge Cloze note type, or copy the cards as text for Anki’s own import.

FAQ
What is the difference between a new number and the same number?
Each cloze number becomes its own Anki card. A new number (Alt+C) makes another card that hides just that blank; the same number (Alt+Shift+C) hides both blanks together on one card — useful for pairs that only make sense together.
Can it find the blanks for me?
This free tool only turns text you already marked (bold, highlights, numbers) into blanks. To have the facts picked and the cards written from a PDF, slides or notes, use the AI card maker on the home page.
Does it keep formatting?
**Bold** becomes bold on the card, and simple HTML tags such as <i>, and are kept. Other markup is shown as plain text.
Which Anki versions can open the deck?
Any recent Anki desktop, AnkiMobile and AnkiDroid. The cards use a Cloze note type, so each blank number is its own card, exactly as if you had typed it in Anki.
